"Nail"
This is it. He stopped running — sent the coordinates himself. That's either a trap or an invitation, and with him it's usually both.
PILOT
Then let's find out which, together.
"Nail"
Go get your answer, kid. I'll be on comms making sure it doesn't turn into a eulogy.

After floor 14· beat 2

Kuro
There it is. First time you've actually beaten me instead of just outlasting me.
PILOT
So what happens now? You disappear again, three campaigns from now we do this all over?
Kuro
You know what everyone gets wrong about wildcards? They think we don't believe in anything. We believe in plenty. We just refuse to believe in whoever's holding the leash that week.
Kuro
I wore three empires' colors doing jobs I didn't ask questions about, before I learned the trick: a flag can't miss you when you're gone. People can. That's the one lesson no empire ever wants you to learn.
Kuro
So I stopped collecting flags. Started collecting people worth bleeding for instead. Short list. Very picky business.
Kuro
Could. Or you could stop treating me like a storm to survive and start treating me like backup. I'm still not answering to anyone. But I could answer to a fight worth showing up for.
"Nail"
PRIVATE: Did the demon rabbit just ask to join the squad? I need this on record.
PILOT
Welcome aboard, Kuro. Try not to steal anything on the way in.
Kuro
No promises.

"Nail"
he sent COORDINATES. formal ones. with a landing vector. the feral ghost of three warzones sent us a calling card with good manners.
PILOT
Everything he has done since campaign two was a test. This is the last page of it.
"Nail"
then go pass it, kid. and if it IS a trap after all - the drinks I owe you transfer to your next of kin. that is legally binding, I said it in the channel.

After floor 7· beat 2

Kuro
Halfway. You fight cleaner than you did in the Swarm. Someone has been practicing.
PILOT
Someone has been chasing YOU across half the galaxy. It is a workout.
Kuro
Best cardio there is. Come on. Last stretch is the honest one.

After floor 14· beat 3

"Nail"
so the demon rabbit is squad now. for the record I predicted this in chapter one.
Kuro
You bet against me in chapter one. I read the channel logs.
"Nail"
I bet against you CATCHING, not against you JOINING. those are different markets, rabbit. read closer.
PILOT
Welcome to the channel, Kuro. Officially, this time. Try not to audit it more than once a week.
Kuro
No promises. This is already the least secure door I have ever agreed to knock on. ...It is also the first one that opened. Noted, for the ledger.
