Mission start· beat 1
- Lieutenant Akira
- If Fujimoto says what I think he's about to say, I need you to not look at me differently afterward.
- Lieutenant Hikari
- I've watched you eat cold ration paste and call it 'fine.' There's no version of you left that could still surprise me.
- Professor Fujimoto
- Sit down. Both of you. What I'm about to say, I've rehearsed for eight years and it still tastes like poison.
- Lieutenant Akira
- The spark. Tell me what it is.
- Professor Fujimoto
- It's called the Apex Project. A hive-mind protocol. Your 'talent' is a leash, Akira — you were engineered to one day stop being a pilot and start being a NODE.
- Lieutenant Hikari
- And Kaito? WHERE IS MY BROTHER?
- Professor Fujimoto
- Aurora's mirror program. The Oni. I'm sorry, Lieutenant. They didn't arrest him. They harvested him.
After floor 10· beat 2
- PILOT
- Professor — data's secure, extraction's clear. You just burned every bridge you had left. Why now?
- Professor Fujimoto
- Because I built the cage, mercenary. Every night for eight years I dreamed of the children who'd grow up to be locked in it. Then two of them knocked on my door.
- Lieutenant Akira
- You can't unbuild it?
- Professor Fujimoto
- No. But I can build the key. Get me materials, time, and protection — and I will end the age of Warmachines myself.

Mission start· beat 1
- Lieutenant Nakamura
- Fujimoto has been in that room with Akira and Hikari for three hours. Nobody has come out. Nobody has asked to.
- Sergeant Yuki
- three hours. whatever takes three hours to say is not going to fit in a report field.
After floor 3· beat 2
- Sergeant Yuki
- Akira came out first. Did not say a word. Hikari came out an hour later. Also did not say a word. I do not think either of them slept.
