- Professor Fujimoto
- Stop pacing, all of you. If we're going to die in a ruin, we might as well die informed. There's one more file. The deepest one. I need you sitting down, Akira.
- Lieutenant Akira
- I've run out of ways to be broken, Professor. Say it standing.
- Professor Fujimoto
- The Ghost that outflew you — its designation is Oni-Prime. Its donor subject was Ensign Kaito Kurenai. Hikari... the Ghost is your brother.
- Lieutenant Hikari
- No. No, we FOUGHT it — I shot at — I shot at my own—
- Professor Fujimoto
- And Akira. The Apex files name their Prime Candidate Alpha. It has always been you. Both programs were built around the two of you meeting.

- Major Kenji
- Akira's locked himself in the maintenance bay. He's been staring at his own hands for six hours. I've seen combat breaks before. This is worse.
- PILOT
- His whole life just became someone else's blueprint, Kenji. Every victory, every instinct — designed. You don't walk that off.
- Lieutenant Hikari
- Then we don't let him carry it alone. Open the bay door, Major. My brother is a weapon and the man I love is a blueprint — and I am DONE letting their designers write one more line of our story.
- Major Kenji
- ...Opening the door. Gods help whoever's on the other side of that woman.
- Lieutenant Akira
- ...I don't know which parts of me are mine anymore, Hikari.
- Lieutenant Akira
- The instinct that's saved this squad a dozen times — designed. The reflexes Command called a gift — designed. Maybe even the part of me that wanted to protect people in the first place. I can't tell anymore if that was a boy's choice, or a specification.
- Lieutenant Hikari
- Then find the part that isn't. I'll wait as long as it takes.
- Lieutenant Akira
- ...This. Wanting to walk out that door because you're the one standing on the other side of it. Nobody designed that into me. I checked. I checked twice, because I needed it to be true.
- Lieutenant Akira
- So if there's one honest thing left in me, it's this: built or born, designed or free, I would choose you in every version of me they ever could have made. That much, at least, is mine. That much they never got to touch.

- Sergeant Yuki
- we have been branded traitors on two flags in one week. is there a support group for this. asking for myself
- Lieutenant Nakamura
- There is not, Sergeant. I checked. If we survive the month I will draft a charter.
After floor 4· beat 2
- Sergeant Yuki
- the bay door has been shut for six hours. does anyone bring him food? water? do we knock? somebody tell me what the protocol is for THIS
- Lieutenant Nakamura
- There is no protocol, Yuki. There is just waiting with the door in sight so he knows someone is on the other side of it.
