- Matsuo
- The Fenrir and I have eaten a hundred aces. But you didn't come to duel, did you, Prime Candidate? You came to become. I can SEE it behind your eyes, straining at the leash.
- Lieutenant Akira
- The EMP needs a neural key — a mind fully merged with the machine network. It was always going to be me. It was DESIGNED to be me.
- Lieutenant Hikari
- Akira, no — we find another way, we ALWAYS find another—
- Lieutenant Akira
- Not this time, love. Beat him with me. Then let me go be the key. And Hikari — whatever walks back out of that light... be patient with it. Some of me will still be in there.

- PILOT
- The pulse... it's spreading like a sunrise. Every machine in the sector going quiet, one by one. It's almost gentle.
- Lieutenant Hikari
- Matsuo's frame is dead metal. The war machines are dead metal. And Akira is standing in the middle of it, breathing. Akira...?
- Major Kenji
- Matsuo's cockpit read three seconds of life signs after the pulse hit — then nothing. Whatever he was trying to become when that light took him, he didn't get to finish it.
- PILOT
- Then that's the whole obituary he gets. Not a martyr. Not a god. Just a man who ran out of matches to hand people.
- Lieutenant Akira
- ...The network is silent. The voice is silent. Everything is so... quiet. Hikari. I remember the telescope story. I remember the dance. I'm keeping those.
- Lieutenant Hikari
- Then that's enough to rebuild from. Come home, Akira. Come home slowly, and I'll be there for every step.

- Sergeant Yuki
- Matsuo is still talking. Somebody tell him the debate portion of this war ended chapters ago.
- Ensign Yusuke
- Villains always monologue. It is one of the only numbers in this whole campaign that has held steady.
After floor 5· beat 2
- Lieutenant Nakamura
- Every sensor in range just went quiet at once. Not destroyed-quiet. Powered-down-quiet. The whole sector, all together.
- Ensign Yusuke
- I do not have a model for the sound of a war actually ending. I am glad I finally get to not have one.
