Mission start· beat 1
- "Nail"
- A captured Cygnus factory, running triple shifts, stamping out Vanguard steel. Whole thing's automated — which means the workers he 'liberated' are now soldiers instead.
- PILOT
- Every blade we don't stop here meets us on a battlefield later. Sabotage the lines, quietly.
- "Nail"
- Quietly, says the pilot in the six-ton war machine. Fine. But when it inevitably goes loud, I get to say I told you so BEFORE we start shooting. It's the little things.
After floor 11· beat 2
- "Nail"
- You want the secret to lasting this long as a gun for hire, kid? Never fight for a cause. Causes get people killed for free. I get paid full price.
- "Nail"
- Every flag I've flown made the same promise: fight for us, and it'll mean something. Kingdom, Republic, corporate script-kiddies with a security budget — same speech, different collar.
- "Nail"
- So I stopped believing the flag. Never stopped believing the fight could mean something. I just decided I'd be the one who gets to decide what it means, and who it's for.
- "Nail"
- So no, I don't fight for causes anymore. I fight for the short list of people who'd still be standing there if I went down first. It's the only ledger I've ever trusted, and you're on it now — so don't you dare make me regret the ink.
- PILOT
- That's the closest thing to a compliment I've ever gotten out of you.
- "Nail"
- Don't get used to it. I ration those too.

This conversation uses an older floor number than the current mission length. It is included here for story reference; its original timing may differ from your playthrough.
- "Nail"
- Forge is slag. And I liberated this beauty off the production line on the way out — thermic blade, Vanguard signature pattern. Feels wrong. Cuts RIGHT.
- PILOT
- Valerius will know it was us.
- "Nail"
- Oh, he already does. Broadcast came in while you were setting charges: 'Tell the mercenary their place in my new world just became a cell.' You've been UPGRADED, kid — from nuisance to nemesis. I'm so proud.
